Yesterday, I woke up with a small tremor. When I turned on TV, there was a big earthquake in northern region. 6 people died and 11 others are still missing... Hope they will be found alive very soon...
Hoshide san is back from the space today. I am glad he came back safely. Can't wait to hear about his experience!!
Anyway, I saw my friends the other day at Izakaya! Izakaya is like a Japanese style pub. Nowadays, there are many small semi-private rooms so that we can enjoy our conversation without a disturbance.
It was great seeing them-- Ben, Kenji, and Amy! Amy is leaving for the States soon. Since she has been a great supportive friend, I will miss her a lot... Good luck Amy! (^^)

I'm really very sorry for those affected by the earthquake. Not too long ago, the Chinese have also experienced a strong earthquake, which took away lives, properties, and even the sanity of some of the victims...
Anyway, it's now raining here in the Philippines, just like what I told you a few months ago. Temperatures are cooler by now...

To everybody posting their comments in this blog, how about sharing about your holidays in which your national flags are hoisted?
Hi Kay!
I'm glad that northern Japan didn't have large casualties and widespread damage. Being advanced in earthquake technology really saves a lot of people.
The independence day celebrations have just ended and you can see flags hoisted everywhere. I've never seen so much Philippine flags this year than in any other year. The National Flag Day has helped increased the people's awareness of our national flag.
Again I was worried about my girlfriend Akiko - as the news reports in the UK didn't say where in Japan the quake hit. Only later did I discover it was to the North.
At first I heard that 6 people had died, now it's up to 11.
Two tragedies in two weekends.
My heart goes out to the relatives of the dead, and to the injured.
I'm afraid I found your blog in a bad period Kay. Lets hope there are happier stories soon.

Yes, we have to live with earthquakes here... We never know when and where it happens, so we should prepare for it.

That's true but if a big earthquake hit the middle of Tokyo, I don't know how big the damage will be...
Iain
Yes, let's hope for happier stories!
By the way, as I mentioned in this blog before, my real name is also Akiko!
Many portions of the Philippine Islands experienced the fury of Tropical Cyclone Fengshen. Seventeen lives were lost and thousands more were affected. The typhoon is expected to be near Chinese soil on Wednesday...

Hi Kay
You're Akiko as well? Why did you change it to Kay? Akiko is such a beautiful name.

I am very sorry for the victims of the cyclone in the Philippines. Hope things are better there now...
Iain
Well, thank you. It is a long story...
"Kay Fujimoto" is just my announcer name.
What does your girlfriend's name mean in kanji? My name means "Sunny". (three suns)
