Kobe

Thank you guys for asking me when you can hear my voice at Radio Japan again.
The answer is...I don't know.
If there are many letters and e-mail to NHK requesting for me, I might get an offer as a host for some other program. But who knows?? They are trying to minimize the shortwave radio...

Anyway, I am on a business trip and have been staying in Kobe since yesterday.
This is the second time for me to visit the city. It is a nice place with both sea & mountains and international atmosphere.
It's too bad I don't have much free time to explore! (;_;)
But the hotel is very nice at least...

I am going back to Tokyo tomorrow night.

(reproduction of original post under entry: "Rainy")
Well, it is very hot during these times here now.

If you are thinking that it would be hotter here on July or August, you're wrong. We're actually preparing for ravaging typhoons during those months. Of course, typhoons of 60kph or higher would mean suspension of classes, hence making students like me very happy. On the other hand, damages are very widespread. Some typhoons passing here sometimes even reach Japan.

But even without those typhoons, it gets rainy here, and for me, nothing is more enjoyable than walking on the streets holding my backpack and umbrella while its raining...

I thought about that too because the English service lasted for up to 2 hours at 2006, but now its just 30 mins...Costs of maintaining those strong transmitters are high...

Dear Kei,
As a matter of fact, I cannot afford the fee to Japan so far. But I am saving money and planning to go to anyplace I would like to in Japan.
Indeed, Taiwanese people really like to go travelling to Japan and so do I.
How about you? Why don't you come to visit Taiwan?

I see...so I'd better not to visit there during summer.
By the way, my aunt's family used to live in Manila about 20 years ago and they loved it. I wish I could've visited the Philippins while they were staying there.

In fact, I have visited Taiwan last year and enjoyed it very much. I loved the food and the National Palace Museum was just wonderful!!
Hope you can make it to Japan sometime soon.

NHK has cut back shortwave broadcast a lot since October, 2007, because more budgets are allocated for TV programs of NHK World. So, unlucky Kay and Junko were let go. The World Interactive show survived for this year (next year? maybe not?), but the broadcast time of the last week of each month is given to a new program. Shortwave broadcast is becoming things of the past. They don’t cajole few remaining listeners. You notice more emphasis is given to internet broadcast. It’s changing times.
